Our Bacon-Wrapped Scallops are grilled and glazed with a pomegranate reduction, served alongside a soba noodle salad, with a gluten-free option available. It's a dish that pairs the richness of bacon-wrapped scallops with the brightness of the pomegranate glaze, and it works equally well as a starter before dinner or a shareable plate at the bar.
Head Chef Dennis Dolbow has worked alongside Rebecca to uphold the standards set by owners Don and Pamela Simmons since 2015, continuing a tradition of from-scratch dishes across the menu.
Like most of our menu, the Bacon-Wrapped Scallops travel well across all three of our spaces on 2nd Avenue, and each one gives the dish a slightly different context.
1946 Restaurant is the classic setting for it, a starter before one of our hand-cut steaks or fresh local seafood. It works well here as a way to ease into a full dinner, especially paired with a glass of wine while you look over the rest of the menu. The Treehouse Bar, our multi-level bar built into a historic oak tree, is a good spot for it alongside a cocktail if you are 21 or older. The elevated, open-air setting makes it an easy plate to share while you take in the view from up in the branches. Roots Bar, the street-level, all-ages lounge beneath the Treehouse, is the more relaxed option if you just want a plate and a drink without the wait for a table. It is the version of Norwoods built for a quick bite before or after time on the beach, and the scallops hold up just as well in that setting as they do at a table upstairs.
